Freebie Friday: Clovis

Body image

The calm before the storm. Tonight has been much anticipated for the past few weeks, and we are just hours away from WORK with Livio & Roby and Clovis with support from our own Jamie Charles and Jared Sanders. Last week we gave away two free Livio & Roby tracks, and today we offer up several free downloads from Los Angeles native, Clovis. You can listen and download the two tracks from the Soundcloud players below.

Guestlist and pre-sale tickets are still available through our website here: Tickets/Guestlist for WORK 02

 Clovis – Merwin

Merwin is a beautifully constructed track bridging the gap between an ambient soundscape and minimal. The drums have a very human feel, which is refreshing compared to many drum arrangements these days, and the pads and synths strike an emotional chord with each and every progression. A thought provoking sample rounds off this minimal masterpiece, and is a perfect track to enjoy before the heavier grooves commence on the dance floor tonight.

Clovis – Monk Enthusiast

Who doesn’t want a little jazz in their life? Monk Enthusiast is Clovis’ bootleg rendition of the 1936 classic Caravan with Thelonious Monk on piano. Taking original elements such as the piano and bass, he puts a more modern dance twist on it rearranging the drums to something more dance floor certified. While the original track Caravan was recorded in the mid 1900’s, it is reminiscent of tracks we enjoy today from artists like Guti. Enjoy this one and let’s take that bassline for a walk.

We look forward to our first event of the year tonight, and couldn’t be happier to have Clovis and Livio & Roby at the helm for the music selection. Enjoy these freebies, and the dance floor awaits. See you there!

Techno Therapy: Hollywood (Clovis Remix)

Body image

Hollywood, a place that many of us call home. Located in the heart of Southern California, Hollywood is an urban playground that can satisfy one’s interests regardless of what those interests may be. This week’s Techno Therapy comes in the form of Clovis’ remix of Hollywood, and this puts us in the perfect mind set for this coming Friday.

Clovis will be playing alongside Livio & Roby at King King (Hollywood) this Friday for our first event of the year. The night is looking excellent so far, and we’re excited for all these incredible DJ’s to control the musical journey for the evening. More info can be found immediately below.

$10 Pre-sale tickets available here: WORK 02 w/Livio &Roby and Clovis
Discounted Guestlist available here: 6AM Group

Clovis did this remix as apart of the Hollywood Revisited EP on Los Angeles record label, Culprit. Culprit never disappoints, and this remix is no exception. Lush pads rising on the fourth beat, synths that make us feel nice and warm, and a subtle groove remind us why we love our city. Whatever inspired Clovis during the time is reflected in this lovely piece of smooth house music.

Clovis is an incredibly talented producer from Los Angeles, and shares a deep passion for house and the underground scene. We’re incredibly excited for his set this Friday, and look forward to another memorable night in our beloved Hollywood.

Artist Spotlight: Livio & Roby

6,450 miles. That’s how far Livio & Roby will have traveled from Romania to be here in sunny Los Angeles next Friday, and they’re bringing their iconic style of house and techno with them. Livio & Roby are masters of hypnotic music that encompasses all facets of house, minimal, and techno. To say that their music takes the audience on a journey would be an understatement; it’s much more than just a journey…it’s an experience. Read more
