For this week’s episode of 6AM’s Global Vibe Radio we welcome Uncertain aka Boriqua Tribez, who steps up to the decks with a one-hour guest mix filled with his signature “frantic techno.”
Boriqua Tribez has been a driving force in electronic music since the year 2000, his prevailing interest for disco, funk and old school percussion-sounds responsible for his unique style of classic elements and recent influences, whether as a DJ since 1989 or as producer since the turn of the millennium.
His resume includes experience playing support for the likes of Ben Sims, Carl Cox, Truncate, DJ Rush, Umek, Cristian Varela, DJ Murphy and The Advent, confirming his caliber as an artist in his own right. His quality is further cemented by his long list of releases for labels such as Pornographic, Impact Mechanics, Recycled Loops, Ingoma, Spilo, HzTrax, and Patterns, to name a few. In 2008 he launched his own imprint called BASICS, shutting down this project in 2011 after 12 releases to concentrate on his own DJing and personal productions.
His dream of running a label didn’t end there. In 2013 he launched CUBANITA Records, named after one of his favorite productions and operated under he ethos of “no politics, no boundaries, no compromise.”
Since then he has gone on to release on Kevin Saunderson’s legendary KMS Records, Driving Forces Recordings and Naked Lunch, on top of remixes for acts such Robert Armani, A.Paul, Ben Long and Tom Hades. 2017 saw him release his very first album on Cristian Varela’s Label Pornographic Recordings, after originally debuting on the label back in 2004. This year he also launched his new project called Uncertain, which sees him welcome a more “frantic” side of techno, as well as appearances on Onh.Cet, Gobsmacked, and Different is Different, with a total of 3 releases on the latter.
