Final Program for the 22nd Amsterdam Dance Event Announced

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest club festival and the most important business conference for electronic music, has announced its finalized program that will be happening on October 18-22.

ADE 2017 will see a record-breaking 2,500 artists and 550 speakers participating in over 450 events within the 5-day period. An estimated 375,000 visitors are expected to come for event’s 22nd edition. This is a significant improvement from last year’s record of 2,200 artists and 550 speakers in 140 locations. With more events in place during the ADE, the organizers are also focused on the further expansion of its daytime and early evening activities. In addition, a couple of conferences are slated for the ADE for the first time, technology conference ADE Tech and the ADE Hangover, which will be part of the daily activities.

ADE Director Richard Zijlma stated his excitement for the upcoming event. “The global electronic music scene is growing enormously, especially through various crossovers with other styles like classical, jazz and hip hop. During ADE, all these styles come together for five days all over Amsterdam, making the city a breeding ground for cultural and technological innovation. It’s great to see that more and more professionals and music lovers from The Netherlands and abroad find their way to Amsterdam,” he said.

Zijlma also revealed the most difficult part in overseeing the ADE: visiting as much of ADE as possible. But with almost a thousand events spread over the five days, it has proven to be an impossibility. But there are some events he cannot miss. “I look forward to the opening concert of Jameszoo & the Metropole Orchestra, the programs of ADE Tech and ADE Sound Lab and of course the Philip Glass concert and masterclass,” he revealed.

The latest additions to the festival program include a special concert by Philip Glass and the ADE Hangover plus Dekmantel Soundsystem (NL), Ellen Alien (DE), Kriss Kross Amsterdam (NL), Lefto (BE), Philip Glass (US), Shanti Celeste (CL) and Sterac aka Steve Rachmand (NL).

More than just an event to see the best DJ’s from all over the world, the ADE day program covers everything from music, art, gear, tech, film, talks, pop-up and conference and networking program. Speakers include; Boys Noize, Gary Numan, Hardwell, Irvine Welsh, Jorsi Voorn, Kenny Dope, Kiasmos, Modeselektor, Nadya Tolokonnikova, NIna Kraviz, Oliver Heldens, Philip Glass, Shelly Finkel, Soullwax, Riga and many more.
