DJ Garth Never Bought Into The Digital DJ Hype

A founding member of San Francisco’s Wicked Soundsystem, DJ Garth was instrumental in bringing the sound of UK acid house to the Bay Area at a time when the early public internet was taking shape. Yet despite the close connection between SF’s rave scene and the nascent tech community, the British expat has always kept it old school when it comes to DJing, remaining a vinyl purist while CDs, laptops and USBs became the industry norm.

The newest episode of the Rave Curious Podcast talks to Garth about those halcyon days by the bay, his new life as an actor in Los Angeles, and why after 25 years, Wicked Soundsystem retains the same loyal following it built from scratch.
