Oceanvs Orientalis, Ardalan, Lum and Special Guest
After 4 years of bringing world-class talent to Hollywood every Wednesday, Clinic Wednesdays has announced its January 2018 lineup.
The brand, which is powered by Underrated Presents, has settled into its new, graffiti-covered home at Station1640 and is ready to celebrate #4YearsOfClinic with a selection of house and tech artists fitting for the occasion.
First up on Jan 10th is Oceanvs Orientalis, whose musical mission is a formation which aims to challenge the aesthetic perception in electronic music. It blends itself with the archaeological tunes of mankind’s cumulative musical history and in this very context believes that “everything comes from the east”.Despite of being an electronic-based formation -due to practical reasons- at the moment, it intends to transform into a dance (to move the body and feet to music) orchestra where each instrument will be played by its own instrumentalist. RSVP and full info here.
On Wednesday the 17th it will be the turn of Dirtybird’s Ardalan, who will be playing ALL NIGHT LONG for the special occasion. Range, appeal and a massive dose of nasty, gritty bass are the three chief weapons every Dirtybird artist has in his quiver, but Ardalan seems to be the peak culmination of all those assets in one wieldy point. This young archer has had the incomprehensible luck to fall into crew with his idols, be reared by their best and given some of their most guarded musical secrets, then hoisted to a platform to blare his prodigious beats from places where most creators can only dream of being. RSVP and full info here.
The third event of the month sees Kompakt’s Lum headline the night. LUM is above all a spiritual encounter, a ritual séance for the acquisition of one’s essence, a ceremony. In a way, it’s also a therapy alleviating personal sorrows and, well, by extension, mitigating the civilizational predicaments. To a certain degree, it’s a course in tribal culturology. Fundamentally, it is LUM’s dream. RSVP and full info here.
